TAPAS FAIR IN RIBADEO (LUGO)

Ribadeo de Tapeo 2014
With the name “Ribadeo de Tapeo”, the Galician council of Ribadeo (in the province of Lugo) has launched an initiative to promote its gastronomy and the tourism in the area. It started last May the 10th and will finish next Sunday May 18.


Ribadeo is a nice village in the eastern cost of the province of Lugo, in the border of Asturias. It is well known for the beauty of its seaside, its liveliness, and its gastronomy based on veal, fish and seafood.

CASERÍO DA CASTIÑEIRA IN OURENSE, GALICIA


Last Christmas I spent some days in Caserío da Castiñeira, a rural house in Ribeira Sacra, which is the county of river Sil canyon, in the Galician province of Ourense. It is in a forest near the mountains, in a peaceful rural area where you can rest peaceful and quiet.

GALICIAN SEAFOOD FAIR


Do you like seafood?

In the centre of Madrid, in Príncipe Pío Railway Station, until December, 9, in the Galician Seafood Fair you can taste all kind of Galician shellfish: clams, cockles, shrimps, spider crabs, crayfishes, mussels, razor-shells, oysters, goose barnacles, octopus, scallop shells… They are gluten-free because they are usually boiled naturally. 

You can also sample Galician Rías Baixas and Ribeiro wines. In the shop you will find liquors, wines, canned food, cheeses, potatoes, Galician vegetables…

FIESTAS DE SAN FROILÁN EN LUGO (GALICIA)


If you are in Galicia in October you should not miss the festivities of San Froilán in the city of Lugo.

From 4 to 12 October there are concerts, shows, craft shows... lots of fun. But the star of this party is the octopus! In early October
multitude of tents are installed in Rosalía de Castro park , where you can taste this delicacy of Galician cuisine.
